  • There are 500,000+ different species
  • There are 60-100 different mold genus that can cause adverse health effects
  • There are approximately 10,000 mold spores on the head of a pin
  • Bio-aerosols (mold) are Airbourne Particles, Large Molecules, or Volatile Compounds that are living or were released from a living organism.

Some common reasons for mold buildup include but are not limited to: ice dams, leakage, chronic condensation, window air conditioners, potted plants, carpeting (if not dried properly), humidifiers, heating and cooling systems.  Some nutrient sources for mold include drywall, hardwood paneling, cellulose ceiling tiles, carpeting, upholstered furniture, fiberglass lined air ducts, and other porous materials.

Different types of mold can begin growing at different temperatures ranging anywhere between 32 degrees Farenheit and 122 degrees Farenheit.

Remediation

At Evans, we employ trained and certified technicians in the mold remediation process. After an Industrial Hygienist has been into the facility to assess the damage and recoverability, our technicians will come in to set up a containment chamber and begin their process of eliminating the mold completely from the premises. Affected contents in the building are removed and taken to our facility for complete remediation and/or storage. In some cases, reconstruction of the structure is needed.
